Silestone

It is naturally nonporous and therefore will not stain or harbor bacteria. You can take cookies right out of the oven or that pot that is boiling over and set it right down on the countertops. Soapstone is soft and can scratch. An application of mineral oil will correct most scratches. Soapstone countertops are ultimately durable and will be there for your family for generations.
